Wedding Centerpieces

For any event, the table setting is a unique part of the décor. It is the place where your guests will interact the most with one another and with what is in front of them. Will they see a fragrant bouquet of flowers, romantic floating candles, or something more unique like a stack of your favorite books? Let’s explore some different types of centerpieces you may, or may not, have seen at weddings!

Flowers

Floral arrangements are the classic wedding centerpiece - and for good reason. It brings life into the room and look and smell divine! I great way to distinguish the tables are to use vases of different heights. It helps your eyes flow and adds a bit of drama.

Candles

Often paired with flowers, candles are an easy way to add a romantic elements to your centerpiece. Oftentimes venues do offer candles for free, so make sure can if you do want to include them. Flameless candles are also an option, especially if your venue does not allow candles. Some variations that I’ve seen with candles are to have them floating on water, often with submerged flowers, in tall vases. Lanterns are also emerging as a popular display for candles. If the lantern is large, you can make a tiered candle display which is so lovely.

Coral

A unique centerpiece, certainly to wow your guests. Coral as a centerpiece would be perfect for a beach wedding.

Potted Plants

There are so many potted plants that could add character to your wedding. And if you are able to place smaller ones, such as succulents, guests could also take them home as favors!

Books

Calling all readers! If you and your partner bonded over your love of the written word, then this might be the perfect option for you. You can find books at the resale store and cover them, or put your favorite books in a stack on each table. You can pair the books with flowers and candles and display some favorite book quotes!

Fruit

Fresh fruit, paired with foliage, is a great way to add brightness and beauty to your centerpiece. Another great idea is to have some cut in half/pieces to release the refreshing aroma.

Branches

If you love nature, this one might be for you! Start collecting branches that you see on your walks and voila - a practically free centerpiece! You can even spray paint them to match your colors or to accentuate your existing décor (gold, silver, bronze, or a white wash would work!).

Wine Bottles

I love the idea of repurposing wine bottles, or different types of glass bottles, for a centerpiece. You can mix glass colors or choose one color and add greenery, wheat stalks, feather, and/or flowers to them. Some people even glue twine around them for a rustic feel.

Picture Frame

What better way to showcase your love than with pictures of your journey together? You can choose pictures from vacations, engagement photo shoot, childhood pictures, and photos during your courtship. Guest will love looking at them and it can be a great conversation starter!
